Mountain Cooling: To keep you comfortable on warm summer days, "The Barn" utilizes an evaporative cooler (often called a swamp cooler). Unlike conventional air conditioning, this natural system uses the simple process of water evaporation to cool the air, making it an energy-efficient and eco-friendly choice. It also naturally adds moisture to the typically dry mountain air, which most guests find very refreshing! The cooler is typically operational from Memorial Day through the beginning of October, subject to weather conditions. The Neighborhood: One of the standout features of our property is the 37 acres of private, community open space, perfect for hiking and immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the area. You can also spend a peaceful afternoon at our catch-and-release pond, stocked with fish for your enjoyment. The stunning views surrounding the property offer a serene and picturesque backdrop, making every moment of your stay special. A Note on Mountain Wildlife: Our property is nestled in a beautiful natural environment. While we take meticulous steps to clean and maintain the house and employ professional pest control, it is a reality of mountain living that insects and small field rodents can occasionally find their way inside, particularly during seasonal changes.
